At 10X, we want ambitious, talented software engineers to join us in building revolutionary DNA sequencing technology. Our multi-disciplinary team in microfluidics, biochemistry, mechanical engineering, computational biology, and software has a proven track record of delivering successful commercial products built on deep technological innovation. We are pursuing an enormous potential market with backing from tier-one venture investors. While DNA sequencing technology has advanced rapidly, it’s still at a level equivalent to what assembly language was to computing, with huge advances yet to be made. 10X is creating products that will do for sequencing what C did for computing, bringing a leap in higher-order clarity and meaning to what is now very low-level information. Software is a key part of that leap. The scale and complexity of analyzing, managing, and visualizing DNA sequencing data means this is an area with no shortage of hard problems, where brilliant engineering still matters and can yield big payoffs. We want computer scientists and engineers – not just programmers – who excel at creating elegant, practical solutions at every level from web APIs down to LLVM code optimization. We are developing performance-critical algorithms, highly parallel data analysis architectures, robust web applications, and rich user interfaces and visualizations deployed to desktop and cloud on legacy-free stacks. If you are the kind of person who is an avid fan of technology in all fields, not just your own, and want to apply your talent alongside a diverse team of experts every day, join us at 10X.

Iodine is a new kind of healthcare company, with a mission to change medicine by helping people find what works best for them. We're based in San Francisco and believe in the power of people to make good decisions. The company was founded in 2013, and in Sept. 2014 launched our first product, an online resource on medication information and real-world experience with medications, based on a database of more than 100,000 reports from Americans. Sano’s mission is to help people live healthier lives by measuring the impact of dietary choices on the body. We believe that every body is unique, and that understanding this uniqueness is vital to understanding one's health. We have created a biometric sensor patch and mobile app that together enable the painless detection of chemical metabolic data. The first application of this technology is continuous glucose sensing. Currently, only the most severe diabetics have access to this kind of monitoring, which is complicated and costly. Sano’s technology seeks to change that. By creating medical-grade solutions that are painless and affordable, Sano will give everyone a chance to understand their unique biometric information. And, in doing so, enjoy a more personalized approach to health and wellness. At Sano, we are driven to help people live healthier lives—whether it’s losing a few pounds, preventing a chronic condition, or simply making smarter, more informed choices about diet and exercise. For more information, visit www.sano.co.

Wanda is a remote monitoring healthcare analytics and management company for primary care patients with chronic diseases. The Remote Monitoring System (RMS) channels data from patients’ home to the WANDA analytics module which highlights to clinicians which are high risk allowing action to be taken before they have an adverse event, potentially reducing hospitalisation rates. Wanda brings to life personalised medicine combined with secure computing and revolutionary data-mining and analytics which represent a paradigm shift in modern healthcare. Globally, 75 per cent of all healthcare costs are attributable to chronic diseases, with heart failure, coronary vascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes amongst the most costly. In 2010, the United States spent 17.6 per cent of its gross domestic product on healthcare, whilst the United Kingdom spent 9.6 per cent. A 2011 report from the World Economic Forum further predicts that if there were no change to chronic disease management, overall global healthcare costs up until 2030 will result in a cumulative output loss of $47 trillion, roughly 75 per cent of global GDP in 2010. Wanda is among the first movers in what will be a very large and fast growing market. The company is based in Silicon Valley and has an on-going collaboration with the Wireless Health Institute at UCLA.
