Wanda is a remote monitoring healthcare analytics and management company for primary care patients with chronic diseases. Globally, 75 per cent of all healthcare costs are attributable to chronic diseases, with heart failure, coronary vascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes amongst the most costly. In 2010, the United States spent 17.6 per cent of its gross domestic product on healthcare, whilst the United Kingdom spent 9.6 per cent. A 2011 report from the World Economic Forum further predicts that if there were no change to chronic disease management, overall global healthcare costs up until 2030 will result in a cumulative output loss of $47 trillion, roughly 75 per cent of global GDP in 2010. Wanda is among the first movers in what will be a very large and fast growing market.
