The Accounting Senior Manager will be a key part of the team driving technical excellence and rigor in the Finance & Accounting department. They will own both operational accounting, accounting policies, and the financial reporting process. The Senior Manager will be encouraged to engage in process improvements around internal controls, and work with cross functional teams to ensure operating effectiveness of these controls. This role will work directly with the senior leadership team on a regular basis and will take direct ownership and responsibility of high profile projects. The ideal candidate is located either in the Bay Area or Los Angeles.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage an accounting team of 7 and growing
• Oversee Revenue, Procure to Pay, Inventory, Fixed Asset, System transformation, and other operational accounting processes
• Drive process improvements and evaluate internal controls as a part of the internal risk assessment 
• Partner with cross-functional teams and manage operating effectiveness of internal controls across the organization
• Manage external business partners such as tax providers and auditors
• Responsible for timely filing of local, state, and federal taxes
• Ownership of month-end close process
• Drive the financial reporting and annual audit process

Qualifications

• BA in Accounting or related business degree (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of experience with a Big 4 or mid-tier Accounting Firm, additional experience with a startup is a plus
• Consumer product, retail, and/or manufacturing experience is a plus
• Experience with Netsuite or system transformation is a plus
