About the role 

We are excited to hire a technically skilled Analytics Engineer to enable faster and more insightful analysis on the Move Money Analytics team at Chime.  We are looking for a candidate that is excited about both doing computational / statistical analyses as well as building and  automating solutions via modern programming techniques that empowers teammates to be more productive and efficient.  The ideal candidate will have: strong programming skills in scripting (Python) and data manipulation (SQL, APIs), some experience with statistical concepts, a learning mindset, and a team-first mentality.

For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $126,000 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Conduct computationally sophisticated analyses using data on member behavior, banking flows, experiments, etc. to inform our product, engineering and marketing partners about trends and opportunities for Chime’s services
  • Become an expert on Move Money data (where it comes from, what it actually represents, how it should be used) and lead documentation and knowledge sharing 
  • Collaborate with analysts and other functions to help bridge between practical business questions and technical (data / computational) solutions
  • Build solutions and automations for the Move Money Analytics team to allow our team to be more rigorous and efficient
  • Write code to reliably calculate key metrics, compute statistics for experiments, and produce visualizations of data analyses

To thrive in this role, you have 

  • A bachelors’ degree in a field like Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.
  • Preferably 2+ years in a data and/or programming focused role
  • Expertise in SQL: translating business questions to queries, understanding joins and functions, building data pipelines, navigating data portals to find the data you need
  • Expertise programming in Python and Pandas for both general and data-specific applications
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts such as mean, standard deviation, hypothesis testing, linear regression, etc.
  • Strong communication skills and a record of working cross-functionally to achieve results, including with other analysts, management and stakeholders
