About the Role
As the Developer Productivity Engineer II, you will report to the VP of Engineering and:

Deployment Infrastructure Ownership

Jenkins support, operation, maintenance, and upgrades.

AWS OpsWorks support, operation, and retirement.

Rundeck support, operation, and retirement.

Internal Tools Ownership
- Microservice Template support, operation, and upgrades.
- Microservice Deployment Process creation, operation, and upgrades.
- Development Environment support.
- Project Management
- Task prioritization.
- Task level estimation.
- Use of modern project management software such as JIRA to organize projects and track progress.
- Breaking larger tasks down into smaller tasks and identifying the order in which they should be completed
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate technical ideas to software developers in written and verbal formats.
- Prioritize cross-functional requests against each other and planned Developer Productivity work.
- Mentoring, Coaching and Onboarding Engineers
- Provide coding feedback to other engineers using Github or through pair programming.
- Onboard new engineers to the team by sharing best practices and keeping team documentation (in Confluence, or Github) up-to-date.
Ideal background and expertise:
- 3+ years of experience as a full-time professional software engineer.
- A professional project involving Docker, a CI/CD pipeline, or cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Professional experience with a common scripting language.
- Modern Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment technologies and techniques.
- Ability to organize a software project using Agile project management tools and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and technical reasoning.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with other engineering teams.
- Experience with mainstream statically typed programming languages such as: Scala, TypeScript, C#, Java
