We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Content Director who excels in both content creation and strategic positioning and messaging frameworks. 

This role involves both strategic oversight and hands-on content creation, with a focus on thought leadership, presentations, long-form and short-form content, and campaign materials. This role is also responsible for measuring and optimizing the effectiveness of our content through the development of reporting, KPIs, and metrics. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Positioning and Messaging: 

  • Craft compelling brand positioning statements and messaging frameworks that differentiate our products/services in the market. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the positioning and messaging are effectively integrated into marketing materials and campaigns. 
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform positioning and messaging strategies. 

2. Content Strategy Development: 

  • Create and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with our messaging framework and brand voice. 
  • Identify key content themes and topics that resonate with our target audience and support our thought leadership initiatives. 

3. Project and Team Management: 

  • Oversee content projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output. 
  • Manage a team of writers, editors, and other content creators, providing guidance, feedback, and support. 

4. Content Creation: 

  • Produce high-quality content across various formats, including thought leadership articles, event presentations (keynote & sessions), long-form content (e.g., white papers, eBooks), short-form content (e.g., blog posts, social media), and campaign materials (email comms for Tier 1 events). 
  • Ensure all content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with brand guidelines. 

 5. Measurement and Optimization: 

  • Develop and implement reporting systems to measure the effectiveness of content. 
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Analyze data and use insights to optimize content strategy and execution. 

Qualifications: 

  • 7-10 years of experience in content creation, marketing, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. 
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful content strategies. 
  • Strong understanding of brand positioning and messaging principles. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions. 
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.

Work Location: This role is fully remote for candidates who reside outside the 50 mile radius of our San Ramon office.  For candidates who reside within 50 miles of our San Ramon location, this role is Hybrid and would require 3 days a week (M, W, TH) in our San Ramon office.

The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the job across the United States. Additionally, the total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

All compensation and benefits are subject to the requirements and restrictions set forth in the applicable plan documents and any written agreements between the parties.

The US base salary range for this role is below.

$132,500$264,800 USD
