Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the executive team to establish a strategic roadmap that identifies key market opportunities and drives category growth
- Leads a cross-functional team to evolve the current roadmap while defining and executing the launch of innovative new ideas
- Drives company business goals and makes challenging decisions upon assessing impact and opportunity costs for investment
- Optimizes the existing product portfolio, while ensuring competitive positioning and best-in-class customer experience through reformulations, repackaging, extensions and updated claims testing
- Leads innovation, research and development of physical products including OTC, dietary supplements, skincare and personal care products, and some aspects of compounded prescription medication
- Works with the Medical team to evaluate ongoing healthcare dynamics, including diligence on category and product opportunities
- Establishes healthcare domain expertise, including categories, competitive landscape to inform assortment, pricing, and new product/category opportunities
- Partners with the Operations and Legal teams to ensure that all physical products are developed, manufactured and dispensed in accordance with all applicable regulations and industry standards
- Collaborates with the Finance team to create new product launch forecasts that align with company’s growth and revenue objectives
- Owns and communicates pricing strategies grounded in cost inputs, competitors, and other market dynamics for existing and new products
Experience & Skills:
- 12+ years of experience in leading innovation and development of high-quality products across the over-the-counter spectrum (medications, dietary supplements, personal care, and cosmetics products), with experience working with compounded prescription or prescription products a plus
- Prior P&L responsibility for a consumer vertical business line
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing high performing teams
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements across product sectors
- Familiarity with interpreting and applying regulated guidelines and understanding risk management concepts
- Experience overseeing both research and development and product quality and safety
- Passionate about health and wellness, creative and willing to think outside the box to develop unique product concepts
