On the Merchant Strategy & Ops team, our mission is to have best-in class restaurant selection, build cutting edge services for our merchants to grow their business, and help our partners operate seamlessly. Our Merchant Services team onboards Merchants to the DD platform with speed and quality and provides essential services for our Merchant partners.

About the Role

You will report to the Senior Director of Merchant Operations, in the Merchant Strategy and Operations Organization.

As the Director of Merchant Services Strategy & Operations, you will be responsible for setting the strategy for merchant onboarding and working cross functionally to deliver on this strategy through quarterly plans. This role ensures that we onboard Merchants with speed and quality and set them up for success and conversion in their early lifecycle. This role is a mix of strategy and execution and people leadership.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Build the strategy for merchant onboarding – You will run the strategic vision for DoorDash's merchant onboarding including how we should achieve scale across new verticals and international markets. You will identify key growth levers across ops and product and work cross functionally to bring these levers to bear.
  • Oversee the plan to Delivery – You will not just have the vision, but work on the plans to bring your strategy to life. You'll focus important workstreams, OKRs and execution for all merchant onboarding programs to increase value to our customer and merchant audiences.
  • Build a Team of High Performers – You will recruit external talent to Doordash, build the team and align the structure to best position the team to achieve our goals. You will work with a team of motivated individuals and coach them to uplevel their skills and performance
  • Build Relationships – Work with our multiple partners (Sales, Product, General Managers) to ensure that the vision and plans for merchant onboarding are understood, several teams are motivated to engage, and ensure that XFN teams are delivering what merchant onboarding needs from them.

We're excited about you because …

  • You have 10+ years of work experience. Specifically across: consulting / strategy / business development / operations / technology / banking or related experience. High-growth or early-stage startup experience. You can translate high-level goals into applicable plans, and you are excited to build those plans yourself.
  • You have People management experience, across full-time and hourly employees, and experience as a culture carrier with an advocate for DEI programs.
  • You are data oriented and can let the data tell the story. You use data to root cause, test hypotheses and ensure we are hitting our OKRs and to set future direction and strategy.
  • You can tell the story to different audiences and through different mediums
