About the Team:

Sojern’s Site Reliability team is a part of our Engineering organization. We strive to keep Sojern’s technology stack abreast with the improvements and changes in the technology landscape. We drive impact by building tools to increase the reliability of our deployments, construct cloud projects, provide guidance on cloud service utilization, and drive security measures to keep our cloud data and infrastructure safe. We work closely with our diverse engineering pods on a daily basis to provide support for their projects while also driving broader change that is more focused on cloud operations across the organization.

The Role:

• Join the efforts of our Site Reliability Engineering team, establish best practices, shape the SRE culture at Sojern, and work in close collaboration with Software Engineers and Data Scientists.

• Enjoy a fast paced environment that challenges you to adapt to change swiftly

• Focus on solving the problem with simple, concise, maintainable, transparent techniques

• Implement revenue producing and conserving features plus discover and contribute your own

• Ability to work independently, learn from and mentor other team members

• Apply statistical measurements to your systems to carve out the signal from the noise

What you bring to the table:

• 5+ years of experiences as a Software Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer

• Proficient working with Kubernetes

• Proficient creating and managing cloud infrastructure with Terraform

• Experience securing cloud infrastructure and data

• Excellent grasp of CS fundamentals and linux environment

• Excellent grasp of network fundamentals, i.e. what exactly happens when I type www.google.com in a browser on every layer

• BS/MS in CS/EE or equivalent experience.

Bonus Points:

• Proficiency in Python or Go

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services

• Experience using containerd in Kubernetes clusters and building containers with Kaniko

• Experience with distributed systems and highly parallel processes.

• Experience building CI/CD pipelines for and with containers

• Experience with Jenkins, GraphQL, Grafana, istio or linkerd, pprof, perf tools
