About the role

The iOS Mobile team at Metromile pride ourselves on using the latest technologies to help solve complex business problems and provide our users with the best Insurance experience. If you join us on our journey to build an industry-leading mobile experience you’ll have the opportunity to explore technologies like Swift and the latest tools that iOS has to offer. You’ll collaborate with the Android Team to ensure the apps not only have feature parity but follow similar architectural principles. This includes working on iOS as well as Android. You’ll work closely with Product and Design to ensure we’re following the best practices for the iOS Platform.

You will

  • Build amazing mobile experiences using the latest technologies 
  • Work closely with Product Management and Design to help define the future of our iOS mobile experience
  • Be responsible for the architecture, engineering, and success of our iOS app
  • Be responsible for releasing Apps to the App Store
  • Be responsible for the team using the latest and greatest technologies available
  • Willing to work on features on both Android and iOS
  • Be autonomous, able to be search out solutions to a well-defined problem

About You:

  • At least 1 app shipped to the App Store
  • 1+ years of professional experience with a strong preference in multidisciplinary environments
  • Swift and Objective-C experience
  • Familiarity with MVP and MVVM design patterns

Nice to Have :

  • Active participation in Open Source projects (we can use this as optional rubric criteria during screens)
  • Technical coaching via blog posts on sites such as Medium (you can wordsmith this :P )
  • Work with annotation-based code generation
  • Profiling techniques
