<p>FabFitFun is looking for a Engineering Managerr to join our Engineering team! This role will report to our SVP, Engineering. Ideal candidates love to design, build, and operate domain-driven backend systems, and have 4+ years experience building and managing software teams.</p>
<p>Location: FabFitFun is based in the Greater Los Angeles area in West Hollywood,CA.&nbsp;</p>
<p>What You’ll Do:&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Define the architectural strategy for the systems you own and contribute to architectural vision for the platform at large</li>
<li>Introduce new technology and design patterns where you believe they can help power the business</li>
<li>Implement flexible, domain-driven solutions that balance expediency with long-term flexibility</li>
<li>Provide consultation for non-technical leaders and clarity around technical decisions</li>
<li>Mentor, coach, and sponsor your team(s) of engineers</li>
<li>Set quantitative and qualitative goals for the team and hold them accountable to achieve those goals</li>
<li>Establish standards and best practices on your team for testing, software delivery, observability, contract definition, etc.</li>
<li>Refine processes for the team – judge when to add or remove processes to streamline the team without drowning them in red tape</li>
<li>Build relationships with other leaders in Technology and Product and leverage those relationships to enable your team</li>
<li>Participate in sprint related meetings such as standup, grooming, retrospective, and roadmap replenishment</li>
<li>Encourage a culture of experimentation, prototyping and brainstorming across technical and non-technical teams</li>
<li>Technical contributions such as prototyping, code reviews, incident response, and so on</li>
</ul>
<p>What You’ll Bring</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field</li>
<li>6+ years of experience as a software engineer, building and operating production systems at scale</li>
<li>3+ years in leadership roles as an individual contributor</li>
<li>You have a lot of experience with Java, Python or similar languages</li>
<li>You love to design, build, and operate domain-driven backend systems</li>
<li>You’ve worked in agile-ish systems, kanban systems, and more importantly hybrid systems</li>
<li>You’re good at demystifying complex technical concepts for laymen and love to simplify complex ideas for curious teammates</li>
<li>You’ve worked in teams with diverse communication styles and know how to nurture that diversity as a team strength</li>
<li>You already can’t live without continuous delivery and know how to drive your team towards small, frequent deployments</li>
<li>You know how to tune up observability up and down the stack</li>
<li>You know how to use goal-setting to align company strategy with your teams’ work</li>
<li>You know how to find the growth edge for people on your team, including your own</li>
</ul>
<p>The expected base salary range for this position is $180- 200k + bonus. The compensation package will also include an initial equity grant, in addition to a range of generous medical, dental, vision and other perks &amp; benefits. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications.
