The Solution Consultant is strategic to Vertafore in many ways. You will be at the forefront of the innovative products Vertafore brings to the market. You will join a dynamic team of consultants and engineers who come from diverse backgrounds including sales, consulting, and technology with the ideal candidate combining all these skills to crisply articulate the value of the Vertafore solutions to our customers.

The Solution Consulting team is an integral part of the sales team and advises our customers on considering new solutions and how to achieve the maximum value of the existing tech stack.  A successful pre-sales technical consultant prepares diligently to understand the customer’s business and presents solutions that drive growth. It is all about value and working in a team that strives to be the best they can be and exceed our customers’ expectations with industry and technology knowledge. The team works with new and existing customer’s and supports the Inside and Field sales teams for your assigned team and product. 


Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:

  • The subject matter expert in specific area of expertise.
  • Extracts business needs of a prospect and applies that knowledge to our solutions.
  • Directs the SC configuration team on changes needed based on prospect needs.
  • Uncovers value through the discovery process and aligns with the solutions Vertafore has to offer.
  • Works in a team environment in a supporting role to the sales team.
  • Works with Product Management to help define product requirements collected from field experience.
  • Works with multiple stakeholders to develop competitive positioning. 
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of insurance licensing, appointing and compensation concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of business process outsourcing and process management.
  • Knowledge of compensation concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Able to analyze data and trends to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Basic understanding of statistical methods.
  • Able to simplify complex data to identify main conclusions and key presentation points.
  • Able to think “outside of the box” and have the technical aptitude for building specific use cases.
  • Able to perform and present in high stress situations. 
  • Advanced presentation skills including ability to sell value over feature function.
  • Ability to learn new products, technology concepts, and best practice in a brief period.

Qualifications:

  • 3 + years pre-sales or consulting experience in enterprise software or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive insurance industry knowledge and experience.
  • Insurance licensing and appointing knowledge preferred.
  • Insurance software experience in the carrier and MGA space, or Agency space
  • Experience with policy administration, data, content, and workflow management preferred.
  • Experience with cross platform integration capabilities.
  • Knowledge of various operating systems, computer hardware and software.
  • Experience with content and workflow management preferred.

Additional Requirements and Details:

  • Travel required from 20-30% of the time.
  • Ability to work remotely with a stable internet connection on an as needed basis.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
  • Frequent sitting and/or standing.

  • $90,000 – 125,000 / year

Vertafore is a Flexible First working environment which allows team members to work from home as often as you’d like, while using our offices as a place for collaboration, community, and teambuilding. There are times you may be asked to come into an office and/or travel for specific meetings for a specific business purpose and this varies by job responsibilities.
