About the Role:

Quizlet is a leading company in consumer learning technology with proven traction and huge growth ahead. We have a freemium business model with two strong and growing revenue streams - subscriptions and advertising. Our freemium model exists to attract the largest possible number of potential customers at the lowest cost while creating student and teacher evangelists to drive virality. Our focus is on generating revenue through low-priced, high-scale consumer subscriptions that students cannot imagine studying without.

We’re looking to bring on a senior leader to our Strategic Finance team reporting to our VP of Finance to help build the financial systems and processes as we move towards an IPO.

In this role, you will:

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes, including planning cycles, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting
• Own Quizlet’s long-term financial forecast model
• Work closely with the VP of Finance to build the financial infrastructure to support Quizlet’s current and future business requirements
• Drive standardization & simplification throughout, including the use of automated solutions
• Improve financial planning processes and systems to enhance management visibility and decision-making
• Build and mentor a high-performing team that produces rich insights, plans, and forecasts with a high degree of transparency and accuracy
• Lead strategic projects and support senior leadership on ad hoc research and analysis
• Structure, build, and maintain complex financial and decision-making models to develop meaningful insights and actionable recommendations
• Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data structures, align on definitions and data sources and build automation of agreed upon metrics

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Finance or related field; MBA preferred
• 10+ years of progressive, relevant experience in FP&A within a top technology company handling a full P&L. Software and SaaS experience preferred
• Extensive experience leading and developing the Corporate FP&A function in a high-growth environment
• Strong systems aptitude and proficiency, including expert Excel skills (NetSuite a plus)
• Experience working with BI tools and large data sets
• Experience with performance management, scorecards, and dashboarding
• Thoughtful financial modeling capabilities
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with superior attention to detail
• Strong understanding of GAAP revenue recognition standards and business unit allocations
• Excellent problem-solving diagnosis and analytical skills
• Ability to anticipate business needs and be a thought leader
• Ability to effectively manage relationships with senior stakeholders
• Superb communication skills and strong executive presence
