HouseCanary is building an elite finance team that will drive the financial and operating strategy of the company. We value strategic thinkers who can model the future, helping us understand the financial consequences of any decision. The FP&A role focuses on driving growth through strong financial discipline and decision making.

What you'll do:

  • Work on sophisticated financial and operational modeling: build models from scratch, improve our existing models, and consolidate models into company P&L
  • Set forecast-based budgets across teams for revenue, spend, gross profit, etc. that roll into company-wide models and financials
  • Help enforce budgets and keep teams on track
  • Integrate projections and budgets in ERP system
  • Make financial reporting a proactive and (close to) real-time activity Answer key business questions with detailed financial analysis
  • Provide materials for board and investors
  • Integrate data across our teams to drive business insights and decisions
  • Thoughtfully lay-out dashboards and reporting to drive executive insights and decision making in support of our strategic and financial plans
  • Drive various analyses that deliver data driven insights in a structured manner to promote business outcomes that accelerate our growth trajectory

What you'll need:

  • 10-12 years in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, analytics, or related positions, with at least 5 years' experience in an FP&A role specifically
  • Prior experience at a SaaS or tech company; experience at an early stage, high growth company strongly preferred
  • Elite Excel skills with advanced understanding of translating business results into an insightful and consumable story for leadership teams
  • Detail-obsession but ability to simplify a complex problem into its most important levers
  • Ability to work independently, deal with ambiguity, operate in a cross-functional matrixed organization, and meet deadlines in a high-growth environment focused on driving business results
  • Self-starter with a desire to quickly learn and grow; willing and able to initiate, manage, and execute projects with minimal supervision
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management; MBA preferred
  • SQL preferred but not a prerequisite
