About the Role:

We’re looking for someone to join us and support everything from strategic planning to developing content and execution for the Unity games developer community evangelism activities. In this role, you will be responsible for launching programs and campaigns that attract new customers through social media, forums and the influencer community. You will have a chance to work directly with end-users, engineers and leads from cutting edge technology companies. You will collaborate with the rest of the product, engineering, marketing and sales teams, to evangelize our differentiated engineering-centric solution in the market. The ideal candidate is looking to build opportunities from the ground up and can transition between goal setting, execution, and cross-functional coordination across all levels. Responsibilities:

  • Develop content and community building campaigns to excite and inspire game developers to use
    Backtrace to build better games.
  • Create demo environments and sandboxes, technical how-to content, and small write-ups on the
    benefits of new features.
  • Represent Backtrace to prospects, customers, and the market at large by engaging in discussions
    on the technical merits of the solution.
    • Speak at conferences, meet-ups, user groups, and other general events.
    • Host regular education and Q&A sessions about Backtrace for prospects and customers.
    • Meet with and interview customers to generate content for podcasts, webinars, success
      stories, and blog posts.
    • Monitor and respond to social and community forums.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with technical thought leaders and influencers in the
      software programming and development lifecycle domain.
    • Forums presence (manage our presence in games developer forums)
    • Organizing game developer meetups
  • Content creation (guest posts on our blog, newsletters, social content — both written and visual)
    • Blog strategy, (developing an editorial calendar that aligns with our social activity), Posts Analytics
      (collecting and reporting data from our social channels)
    • Influencer relations (nurturing relationships with high-profile brand ambassadors)
    • Copywriting (email marketing and SEM and media partner of forum ad copy)

    • Lead Generation --build a program to support our lead gen goals.
    • Know and build the content that excites them, understand proof points and the pain points, build
      demos and give demos.

About You:

  • You have either worked as a game developer evangelist or community marketing manager
    previously or have extensive knowledge of where Unity games developers go to learn about and
    vet tools and technologies to support the games development life cycle.
  • 3+ years in a game developer community marketing manager role or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written) skills and a positive, customer-centric attitude.
  • Comfortable presenting and defending ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter with an ability to follow through under minimal supervision. Autonomous and
    accountable, work directly with product leadership, our customers and other stakeholders.
  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Computer Science or equivalent experience
