What We’re Looking For:

Skillz’s Market Research & Insights team is looking for two talented Insights Leads to manage Player Insights and Developer Insights. These positions report to the Head of Market Research & Insights and will serve a critical role in helping the Company unlock powerful insights to drive growth.

What you will do:

  • Lead all aspects of Market Research: Manage market research projects from start to finish, including research design, questionnaire development, data collection, data analysis, and reporting. Must be able to manage medium complexity research projects independently. 
  • Develop Deep Customer Understanding: Build a deep understanding of gamers/ developers, their needs, motivations and tensions to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Demonstrate Market Research Breadth: Work with a variety of qualitative and quantitative tools and research techniques including primary and secondary data sources. Will execute internally-led research on the Skillz platform as well as collaborate with external research partners. 
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise: Must have experience with brand tracking/ customer satisfaction, attitude & usage studies, human centered design/ ethnographic research, audience research, and/or persona development. Experience with concept testing, copy testing and/or advertising effectiveness research preferred but not required.
  • Lead Data Synthesis: Analyze information across multiple data sets to identify key insights and translate research findings into a clear concise story with solid recommendations that help shape business decisions.
  • Amplify Storytelling: Persuasively communicate research findings to a variety of stakeholders, influence across teams and levels, and leverage consumer insights to drive business decisions. 
  • Communicate with Impact: Provide strong thought leadership to a variety of stakeholders, clearly communicate research ‘so what’s’ across levels, and persuasively present research findings to small or mid-sized audiences.

Your Skillz:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of market research experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a market research role at a technology, entertainment or consumer products company
  • Demonstrated ability to lead qualitative and quantitative research with medium complexity
  • Must be highly flexible and comfortable working on a nimble research team with limited resources in a high change environment. 
  • Must be comfortable leveraging DIY, internally-led research and full service vendor-led research.
