About the role
We are looking for a leader with operational excellence to lead our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Know Your Customer (KYC) and Transaction Monitoring operation teams which sits within our Financial Services Operations team. With high growth in the team’s people and processes, we need an operational partner to deliver in assisting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Know Your Customer (KYC) and our transaction monitoring operations program. As the KYC/Transaction Monitoring Manager at Chime, you will work to lead the transition of our AML operation workflows away from the AML Strategy team and manage the day to day operations of the AML team under the Financial Services Operations umbrella. You will collaborate with senior management in developing strategy, business plans/objectives for the AML operation team.
In this role, you can expect to
- Manage the daily operations of AML staff by overseeing alert/case volumes and providing ongoing coaching, guidance, and training
- Interlace with Vendor management and vendor staff
- Responsible for management functions including new employee selection, employee development, performance evaluation, and corrective action
- Create and implement unit objectives and policies and procedures to meet organizational goals and objectives
- Oversees and manages designated AML prevention and detection environments and ensures regulatory and reporting requirements are met
- Lead training sessions on AML awareness and processes. Maintain AML expert knowledge and keep abreast of money laundering typology trends
- Build tactical and scalable solutions for operational teams to manage compliance tasks and risks
To thrive in this role, you have
- 5 or more years of AML or financial crimes management or other relevant experience
- 2 or more years of direct team lead, supervisory or management experience
- Knowledge of KYC/EDD and Transaction Monitoring related workstreams
- A strong analytical and metrics driven approach to create substantiated solutions.
- The ability to work in a fast paced, highly structured, deadline driven culture
- Independently perform complex assignments, conduct problem resolution, and identify and execute enhancements for the operations team
