Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview.

EchoStar is seeking a strategic and visionary Manager of Agentic AI Engineering to lead advanced multi-agent and generative AI initiatives. This leadership position oversees the transition from experimental proof-of-concepts (POCs) to scalable, highly performant, and cost-effective generative AI products that drive measurable business impact. Responsibilities include building, mentoring, and managing a high-performing team of Lead and Staff Agentic AI Engineers while partnering closely with business leaders, product owners, and engineering architects to ensure the successful delivery of complex workflows into resilient, production-ready systems. The role is pivotal in leveraging advanced agentic AI techniques to develop autonomous solutions, ultimately shaping the future of digital entertainment experiences through the power of cutting-edge AI engineering.

What Success Looks Like (Objectives):

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a highly skilled team of AI engineers and architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous innovation
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of autonomous AI services and multi-agent workflows, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to enterprise production standards
  • Partner with senior leadership and product owners to define the AI technical roadmap, prioritize initiatives, and align engineering execution with overarching business objectives
  • Provide high-level technical guidance to the team, ensuring architectural decisions align with best practices for scalability, security, and the use of hybrid control flows and state machines
  • Champion the adoption of modern agent interoperability standards (e.g., MCP, A2A) and secure tool execution environments across the organization's AI initiatives
  • Drive engineering excellence by establishing robust agile processes, code quality standards, and CI/CD/observability practices for LLM-powered applications

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Core Skills and Competencies (What you’ll bring):

  • Ability to manage resource allocation, identify technical roadblocks, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration between AI, backend, data, and infrastructure teams
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate complex technical details clearly to varied audiences, ranging from executive leadership to deeply technical staff engineers
  • Ability to effectively manage project scopes, timelines, and technical trade-offs; balancing probabilistic LLM behavior with deterministic enterprise constraints
  • Strong foundational knowledge of modern generative AI architectures, including cloud-based foundation models (e.g., AWS Bedrock) and multi-agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen)
  • Familiarity with modern deployment infrastructure, containerization, and DevOps practices (e.g., Docker, EKS, GitLab CI/CD)
  • Critical experience managing teams that successfully design, build, and ship LLM-powered applications or complex distributed systems into live production

Additional Qualifications:

  • Previous hands-on experience as a Lead or Staff-level engineer working with generative AI, ML, or advanced orchestration systems
  • Familiarity with enterprise AI deployment platforms, observability tools, and large-scale data systems for context processing

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field
  • Minimum Experience: 8+ years of experience in software or ML/AI engineering, with at least 3 years in a direct people management role leading high-performing engineering teams
  • Required Technical Skills: Must have at least 3 years of experience with:
    • Designing, building, and shipping LLM-powered applications or complex distributed systems into live production
    • Modern architectures, generative AI, ML, or advanced orchestration systems
