About This Role
Strava is the leading social platform for athletes and the largest sports community in the world, with over 85 million athletes in 195 countries. Strava’s mobile apps and website connect millions of active people every day.
Come join the team working to unlock the next generation of storytellers and creators across sport and connected fitness. Content is the backbone of Strava today. Every activity shared and the story around it is a chance to inspire, motivate and connect through a common love of adventure and the athletic experience.
We are looking for a passionate partner marketer and community builder to bring to life the vision and opportunity for storytelling on Strava. Whether they’re pro athletes, podcasters, writers, experts, event organizers, brands, or publishers, our aim is to help these storytellers grow their audience and engage their fans through using Strava to its fullest potential.
Our team is fast, nimble and requires a creative and entrepreneurial mindset. You will work across our partnerships, revenue, marketing and country teams to develop marketing strategies and build scalable systems (workshops, programs, content) to reach more creators and organizations with education and resources.
In addition to nurturing the creator and partner community on Strava through ongoing programs and content, you will work cross-functionally to launch new features that allow creators to reimagine storytelling in sport.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:
-
Build content and develop the events and communication channels that provide the foundation for our ongoing relationships with a growing and diverse set of world class creators — the current and future storytellers, experts and professionals in the world of sport
-
Be the marketing backbone of our partner and creator outreach; creating the materials, pitches and narratives that scale our work with key athletes, creators, publishers and brands
-
Drive product adoption to help partners get the most out of Strava’s products as they build and engage with their followers and fans
-
Develop grassroots events -- virtual and real world -- to help connect key storytellers and partners to Strava, our vision and our products
-
Organize, track, and measure the success of creators and partners on Strava; communicate these metrics and connect them to broader business trends and larger company initiative
-
Collaborate with internal business, marketing and country teams working across the emerging connected fitness ecosystem to track, identify and develop the next generation of star creators
-
Be an internal advocate within Strava for creators with Product teams, sharing their feedback and experiences with the larger Strava organization
-
Assist the VP of Content Strategy with high-priority planning and tentpole moments
You will be successful here by:
-
Expert knowledge identifying what’s working with partners and turning it into narratives and best practices that scale through content, events and owned (non-paid) communication channels
-
Experience articulating creator culture and/or partner feedback to internal stakeholders; knowledge of the influencer space and the evolving players and trends
-
Expert knowledge of social media platforms and how creators create content and the incentive systems required
-
Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop creative partner activations and moments
-
Experience in external facing or community building roles, either as the one representing a company and/or helping to power the team that works externally
-
Experience using data and analytics in the service of larger initiatives — ability to track, analyze and communicate key metrics and business trends.
-
Deep passion for Strava and the health and wellness of the world’s athletes; you understand the landscape and believe in the role of high quality and inspiring community generated content
We’re excited about you because:
-
5+ years experience in partner or creator marketing in the tech, media and/or digital industry
-
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in tech and digital industry
-
Extensive experience across all aspects of marketing, from event planning to conceptualizing and authoring outbound partner marketing content/resources, newsletters or equivalent
-
Extensive experience working cross-functionally and with all levels of management
-
Project management experience, with experience leading and handling multiple time-sensitive, cross-functional projects on deadline
-
Communication and presentation skills
-
Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans
-
Knowledge of evolution in content, creators and platforms for reaching audiences
