As a Global Facilities Manager at Nextdoor, you’ll manage multiple functions of building operations and maintenance for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings in different geographies.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Communicate and collaborate with the Head of Places and Experiences as well as various other stakeholders to identify and recommend facility needs and upgrades.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with business units. Attend client meetings.
- Obtain cost estimates and RFPs on behalf of the company for planning, construction, renovation, and office repair projects.
- Act as a liaison between Landlord and third-party vendors who are hired to do building maintenance work.
- Provide scope document, budget, timeline, and recommendation for annual maintenance projects with risk analysis for approval.
- Perform and present cost analysis on pricing, discounts, and other relevant project considerations
- Act as a liaison between the company and vendors throughout the project by addressing questions, concerns and project milestones.
- Coordinate and manage designated aspects of assigned projects to ensure timely delivery within the available budget.
- Responsible for facilities inspections like fire alarm testing and fire drills for the company.
- Obtains and reviews price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
- Manages capital projects. Prepares capital project and operating budget and variance reports. Plan, organize, and manage various Facilities Management projects across real estate portfolio.
- Manages vendor relationships and trains vendors on work order and billing procedures. Review invoices for accuracy and cost center coding and approve invoices for work completed and follow up with AP for payment processing.
- Uses pc and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training.
- Coordinates, oversees, and/or manages repair and maintenance work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping and janitorial work.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- Must have a working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing work to coordinate, oversee and/or manage repair and maintenance work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, MEP and janitorial work.
- Must have a good understanding of OSHA and California building codes and continuously checks for violations and provides recommendations to rectify them.
- 6+ years of experience in integrated facilities management, workplace services, or building management.
- Project management skills including; planning, execution, time management, and task prioritization.
- Experience using project management software and computer-aided design (CAD) preferred.
- High emotional intelligence with experience in negotiation, conflict resolution, and effective communication.
Bonus Points
- Facility Management certification preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts intermediate financial analysis.
