Overview

Work IQ is the intelligence layer for Copilot and agents. Business Applications in Work IQ extends that intelligence beyond productivity data to how the business operates, bringing together business data, relationships and processes from Dynamics 365, Power Platform and other enterprise systems, with Microsoft Dataverse as a core source. Through semantic models and reusable business skills stored and managed in Dataverse, Copilot and agents can reason across systems and take governed actions, without moving data and while respecting existing security and permissions, so AI moves from answering questions to running end-to-end business processes.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead product strategy for the developer experience behind Business Applications in Work IQ and Dataverse. You will set strategy and investment priorities for how pro developers and agents build and administer agentic workflows through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the Agent2Agent protocol (A2A), APIs, SDKs and CLIs. This reaches beyond Microsoft's own tools: you will make Dataverse and Work IQ a first-class choice across the broader pro developer and coding-agent ecosystem. You will nurture and grow the developer portfolio, bringing new scenarios, partners and integrations onto the platform while deepening engagement with developers already building on it.

This Redmond-based role shapes how developers and agents use business context, skills and actions at an important point in the evolution of enterprise AI. It suits a product leader who enjoys making strategic platform choices, building alignment across organizational boundaries, and measuring success through developer and customer outcomes.

Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Product strategy and roadmap: Define the vision, strategy and roadmap for developer experiences across Business Applications in Work IQ and Dataverse. Own the business outcomes: active usage, consumption growth and revenue.

  • Persona paths and protocols: For each persona (pro developers, ISVs, makers, coding agents and third-party agents), decide whether they build directly on Dataverse or connect through Work IQ protocols. Design the path from first connection to production across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot and third-party agents. Build reusable platform capabilities rather than one-off fixes.

  • Developer ecosystem insight: Track how the pro developer ecosystem is evolving, including coding agents such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and Codex, and agent frameworks. Combine hands-on evaluation, developer research and product data to decide where Dataverse and Work IQ should integrate and invest next.

  • Trust and governance: Make sure customers can trust agents with their business data, through clear admin controls, security and compliance.

  • Cross-team leadership: Deliver with engineering, the core Dataverse platform team, Dynamics 365 and Power Platform product teams, and Work IQ and Copilot product groups. Bring capabilities to market with marketing, sales and the field, and represent the developer roadmap to customers, partners and senior leaders.

  • Developer scorecard and tradeoffs: Own the developer scorecard, from first build to production deployment, repeat usage and paid growth. Use it to decide which tools and protocols to invest in, standardize or retire.

  • 8+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
  • Track record of leading strategy for enterprise platform or developer products, from concept to growth.

  • Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market dynamics and evolving customer needs.
  • Extensive experience in analytics, experimentation and data storytelling that leads to action.
