Summary Generated by Built In

HOVER uses patented technology making it possible for anyone with a smartphone camera to create an interactive 3D model, complete with detailed measurements and powerful design features. The data produced is extremely valuable as it generates a single source of truth for the physical world allowing for more veracity throughout the home improvement and insurance processes. We’ve found an incredibly strong product-market fit across exterior home improvement, insurance, and financial services. What's the secret sauce? Cutting edge technology, an exceptional culture, and a commitment to our values (Think. Do. Serve.).

With our team of investors, including Google Ventures and Menlo Ventures, HOVER is committed to continuing our success and facilitating growth. We believe there is strength in diversity so we hire skilled and passionate people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Why HOVER wants you:

HOVER is looking for a data-driven problem solver with a knack for thinking outside the box.  This role requires the ability to structure ambiguous problems, conduct meaningful analyses, and drive alignment across functions and within the Executive team.  Your background likely includes some combination of Product Analytics, Insights, Strategy, and/or Management Consulting that leaves you hungry for a role that covers a broad scope and provides an opportunity to drive an outsized impact within the company.

Our Product Analytics & Strategy Team partners across our Product, Engineering, and Design teams to help them leverage data to ship products that matter.  Our business is growing quickly, and a large part of our success thus far has been using data to drive our most crucial decisions, and this is exactly where you come in.

You will contribute by:

Many analytics roles often leave people feeling like they are just churning out infinite dashboards, but not this one.  Instead of just executing on a big list of ‘Asks,’ you’ll be operating as a core partner within a product group, helping your peer Product Manager, Product Designer, and Engineering Manager ask the right questions, build data driven narratives to answer those questions, and align stakeholders on the right decisions at the times when they matter most.

Comfortable in ambiguity, but technical enough to go deep once we have a path, you will thrive at both the whiteboard for kicking off the discovery process and also at the keyboard for digging into the heavy analyses.  An experienced story teller, you will be someone who non-data-literate coworkers go to in order to seek help breaking down challenging issues quantitatively, which sometimes might mean a quick back-of-the-envelope rough pass in 15 minutes, and other times might mean leading a 3 month cross functional project.

You’ll be biased towards action, always excited to play devil’s advocate, and you’ll iterate until things are looking good, but you’ll also know when things are ‘good enough’ and it’s time to move your focus elsewhere.  You’ll know the size, shape, and scope of our product data better than anyone else, and this intuitive understanding of the numbers will be your superpower in group collaborations.

You will be among a team of Data Evangelists who care about fostering a culture of data driven decision making, and we will look to you to celebrate data, analytics, and insights across the company.

Your background includes:

  • 6+ years experience in Analytics, Insights, Product Management, Strategy, Management Consulting, or similar functions
  • Experience cultivating broad product acumen and the ability to synthesize large amounts of information quickly and get-to-the-point
  • Experience leading group projects and enabling progress across multiple people’s work streams simultaneously
  • Experience framing and presenting data-driven stories to senior audiences and cross-functional groups
  • Experience operating in an 80/20 mindset and ruthlessly prioritizing your time when there are far too many exciting and impactful things available to work on
  • Deep experience and comfort with SQL

Benefits:

  • Compensation - Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a fast-growing company
  • Healthcare - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents
  • Paid Time Off - Unlimited and flexible vacation policy
  • Paid Family Leave- We support work/life balance and offer generous paid parental and new child bonding leave
  • Mandatory Self-Care Days - A day set aside each month to allow employees to recharge

  • Learning - We encourage continued education and will help cover the cost of management training, conferences, workshops, or certifications
