About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Designer with deep expertise in design systems to help scale and evolve our core foundations across products. This role is highly technical in nature and focused on the underlying system that powers our user experiences — from tokens and typography to color, patterns, and component architecture.

You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, owning critical system decisions and partnering closely with engineering to ensure our design system is robust, flexible, and built for scale.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $166,000 and up to $235,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

This role is in-office in San Francisco Monday - Thursday every week.

In this role, you will:
  • Own and evolve the foundational layers of our design system, including tokens, typography, color, spacing, motion, and interaction patterns
  • Design and maintain scalable, well-documented system primitives that support multiple products and platforms
  • Partner deeply with engineering to align design system architecture with code, tooling, and implementation realities
  • Define standards, guardrails, and best practices that enable consistency while supporting product velocity
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and technical debt in the system, and proactively drive solutions
  • Contribute to long-term system strategy, balancing near-term product needs with future scalability
  • Advocate for system adoption and quality across product teams through documentation, education, and collaboration
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for system-related decisions, offering guidance and direction across the org
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
  • Significant experience designing and shipping design systems used across multiple teams or products
  • Strong command of design tokens, typography systems, color systems, and component architecture
  • Comfort operating at the intersection of design and engineering, with a solid understanding of front-end concepts and constraints
  • Experience working with modern design system tooling and workflows (e.g., Figma libraries, token management, versioning)
  • Proven ability to work independently, set direction, and make high-impact decisions with minimal oversight
  • Clear, structured communication skills — able to explain complex system concepts to designers, engineers, and product partners
  • A systems-oriented mindset with a high bar for craft, consistency, and usability
