About the Team

The Nearby & New Use Cases team mission is to make DoorDash the #1 food app for any occasion. Customers will discover restaurants and plan their eatable moments - takeout, delivery, or dine-in - in the most convenient and rewarding way with a single app. Restaurants will attract new customers, grow their business, and improve their in-store operations by powering all their use cases with DoorDash.

Organization Focus Areas:

  • Pickup - This team powers our primary use case outside of delivery today, helping customers save time on takeout orders by ordering ahead with DoorDash. You'll partner with engineering, operations, design, and other cross-functional teams to enable Pickup as a daily habit for as many customers as possible. To do so, you'll unlock incremental selection (by building products that make Pickup a great fit for as many merchants as possible), make it the most convenient and reliable way to order (with real-time order updates and high quality pickups), and engage customers with a rewarding experience each time (leveraging Dashpass, loyalty, and our discovery experience to make DoorDash the best-in-class option for every customer).
  • Dine-In - This team is building the third pillar of our offering to restaurants, helping customers discover and book in-store dining experiences at their favorite places nearby (in addition to placing pickup and delivery orders). As the world opens up again, merchants and customers are looking for ways to dine out in a safe, convenient and rewarding way; you'll partner with engineering, operations, design, and other cross-functional teams to build this future at DoorDash. You'll shape DoorDash's dine-in strategy from 0 to 100, testing new products that help customers book tables with confidence, engage with new restaurants, while improving in-store operations for restaurants and their staff.
  • Nearby - This team is creating the best product for helping customers discover restaurants around them for pickup, dine-in, and delivery. You'll partner with engineering, operations, design, and other cross-functional teams to build a platform for local discovery that helps customers decide where to eat on DoorDash when they're hungry (not just when they've already decided on getting delivery from their favorite restaurant). To do so, you'll invest heavily in making the map the best source of information on restaurants nearby, help customers discover and plan nearby experiences, and then make that engagement actionable by helping folks order and book tables with DoorDash.
  • Local Experiences - This team is building the nearby experience beyond restaurants, helping customers discover and book events, appointments, tickets & more. As more customers begin to use DoorDash to plan their meals in the real world, you'll partner with engineering, operations, design, and other cross-functional teams to build the ability to plan any other experience in or around their neighborhood. Local experiences are a new frontier for DoorDash, and you'll shape our strategy from 0 to 100, testing new offerings that help customers plan their nights out, book everyday services, and attend the events they care most about.

We're excited about you because…

  • Track record of impact - you've been in the trenches and have a proven track record of driving significant, company-wide impact
  • Bias to action and agility - you move quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment. No job is beneath you and you lead from the front.
  • "Break through walls" mentality - you are always pushing the envelope of what is possible and can figure out a way to make almost anything happen. You're a playmaker.
  • "Customer-centric" product instinct paired with an ability to balance multiple users' needs and business impact
  • 4+ years of Product Management experience
