About the Role

Rocket Lawyer is seeking a talented and experienced Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to own and manage product marketing for our key products. In this role, you will help shape messaging and positioning within legal tech, drive strategy based on a deep understanding of our customer, their needs and the marketplace, and collaborate with a team of talented product managers and UX/designers to form mobile-centric product visions that will be adopted by our customers. We are looking for a creative thinker who will work cross-functionally to communicate our unique value proposition in an innovative and impactful way. The role will report to our Sr. Director of Product Marketing and will have a strong voice within our highly collaborative team.


This role is based in San Francisco, California. 

A Day in the Life

  • Understand the Rocket Lawyer product, service, and user experience inside out.
  • From competitive analysis to strategy and execution, work side-by-side with global product owners to define product vision, business cases, audience personas, value propositions, pricing models, go-to-market plan, and results for a portfolio of mobile-centric products and features.
  • Plan and execute research and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify problems, pain points in the customer journey, as well as opportunities for growth.
  • Work with Business Intelligence, Product, Finance to recommend financial impact, success metrics, and implement tracking and reporting. Report on the impact of marketing activities as well as learn and optimize based on insights.
  • Own the formation and execution of go-to-market campaigns. Work with marketing channel managers, PR, creative and development colleagues to define timeline, deliverable, and budget. Ensure high quality outcomes and timely delivery.
  • Be able to manage resource requirements to deliver business results tied to company goals and KPIs.
  • Stay up-to-date with competitors and understand the latest trends in the industry, customer behaviors, and technologies. 
  • Manage marketing messaging and product copy to ensure brand consistency across devices and platforms.

Experience/Requirements

  • A passion for our mission
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in demonstrated product marketing excellence. Familiarity with a subscription model is a huge plus.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent required. MBA is a strong plus.
  • Proven strategic thinking skills and problem solving skills especially working with a brand new platform, a new product, a new audience, or highly complicated product-market fit business cases. Strong intellectual curiosity, a lifetime learner, and a good combination of thinker/executor.
  • Prior experience working with mobile app development and/or launch, developer marketing, or account-based custom software development is strongly desired, although not required.
  • Ability to craft clear, compelling recommendations supported by strong analysis and business logic
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Be able to adapt communication styles to whomever the audience is. Enthusiastic, creative, and innovative attitude.
