Product Owner, Data (Remote Positions Available)

As the Product Owner for our data team, yes, you will drive the daily work the team performs to ensure that our organization has accurate reports, but this role is much more than that. Fictiv understands the importance of utilizing data to make informed decisions. We also understand the immense potential to drive more automation through the algorithms we utilize to price and fulfill manufacturing services. What You’ll Be Doing

• Contribute to and drive the strategic direction of our data analytics investments
• Identify opportunities to increase business value from our growing data repository
• Be a key steward to help drive insights to product and operations take advantage of these opportunities
• Manage the backlog of the data team by understanding the priorities of senior leadership, product managers, and departmental analysts
• Answer product-focused questions via data analysis and storytelling
• Build dashboards and reports to monitor progress, answer business questions, and ensure key management reports are available and accurate
• Create tools in Sigma for business users to explore data and make data-driven decisions
• Shepherd best practices amongst the extended data analyst team to ensure appropriate hygiene of our reporting environments and to allow users to be self-sufficient
• Be the company expert in our data model to be a leverage partner for others
• Independent research to answer high-level business questions with data analysis and/or Machine Learning
• Assist Product Managers in ensuring data model additions are accounted for by data team development plans
• Understand existing and future data requirements from extended Data team
• Own the tools of this team, including Snowflake, Sigma, and Heap, managing our ongoing vendor interactions

What You Bring To The Team

• Hands-On: You should be comfortable with and opinionated about the data and analytics tools you use. You are hands-on and expect to be in the data directly. You have knowledge of statistics and data mining techniques. Have proven experience working with large datasets and are comfortable writing queries directly or utilizing BI tools. Experience with Snowflake, Sigma, and Heap is a bonus.
• Communication Skills: A big part of this role is cross discipline communication. You will need to both gain real business understanding with users and have an ability to translate this into technology direction with engineers.
  Analytical Skills: You thrive when given mounds of data and a problem to solve or an insight to develop. You are innately curious and are most excited when there is a puzzle to solve or an idea to validate.
• Collaborative and Service Oriented: You enjoy working with other analysts and business leaders. Solving a problem or answering an insight question for another colleague is rewarding. You are comfortable driving standards and best practices for a team or organization.
• Past Success: You have led a data or analytics focused team for 3+ years. You can talk about the business value your effort generated. Your colleagues would describe you as the go to person when they needed to measure their area of responsibility.
  
• Bonus: If you bring most of the above, and have industry experience in manufacturing, eCommerce, or self service SaaS, plus have done work towards common growth metrics like LTV, CAC, churn rates, and so on, we just fell in love.
