The Opportunity:
The equity in owner-occupied residential real estate represents a $21T asset that is nearly absent from institutional investor’s portfolios. This untapped asset class presents a unique opportunity to develop a new market that is also a core asset. Unison is the leader and pioneer in creating an investable asset from the equity of owner-occupied residential real estate and we are looking for a team member to help broaden the investor base.
There is a strong demand from institutional investors for investments that deliver inflation-hedged, high risk-adjusted returns. Our investment strategy offers that and many other compelling attributes. The combination of investor demand, the Unison asset, and your drive to develop a market for a new asset class provides an opportunity for success.
The opportunity to build and maintain portfolios consisting of these unique contracts and what they represent in housing exposure is a unique opportunity for the right candidate. You can help to define and grow what is likely to be a category defining approach to residential real estate investing.
Responsibilities Include:
- Developing and maintaining Unison portfolios on behalf of clients
- Extend quantitative portfolio management techniques as applied to residential real estate
- Signal research into drivers of return for real estate
- Risk modeling including economic and geographic effects on portfolios
- Multi-asset modeling of real estate portfolios in broader asset allocation portfolios
- Extending forecasting approach for expected returns
- Extend analytic toolset
- Creating client material as needed for due diligence, finals meetings and reviews
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-5 years of quantitative portfolio management
- Degree in quantitative discipline preferred
- Strong desire to grow innovative investment platform
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new asset management area
- Client interaction experience preferred but not required
- Numerical programming skills
- Python, SQL highly preferred
