The Team 

The QA Team is critical to the success of delivering the highest quality of products to our partners. The team achieves this through cross-collaboration to grow, maintain, and be responsible for the testing of SigFig’s products. QA strives to improve test coverage while ensuring standard methodologies and best practices are followed that will ensure reliable and efficient testing. As quality champions, the team is empowered to ensure SigFig product integrations with our large enterprise customers run smoothly.

The Opportunity 

  • Converting complex requirements documentation into test plans and test cases
  • Assisting the development team in debugging and replicating issues
  • Execution of functional and regression test cases
  • Work within and across the teams
  • Identify, isolate, regress, and communicate issues/defects effectively and efficiently
  • Working with back-end system logs and analyzing browsers’ development tools data (Chrome Dev console, Firefox Firebug)
  • Participation in backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups, and other meetings as required
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites
  • Working with mid-level SQL queries
  • Working with Unix and curl commands

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Test: work closely with partners within our product development team to antagonistically test SigFig’s software and identify issues with new products and features
  • Build: ensure products are high-quality by developing, maintaining and executing automated tests, and communicating with the team execution reports, issues, risk, and product quality
  • Problem-Solve: knowledge of problem resolution techniques and processes
  • Mitigate Risk: Identify project risks and recommend actions to minimize risk
  • Partner: educate Engineering and Product on testing and QA; partner with teams to determine product quality goals and measurement

    Ideal SigFigian for this Role

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer, preferably at a consumer-oriented Website
    • Proficient with at least one modern programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, Java, C#)
    • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools, i.e. PHPUnit, JUnit, WebDriver, Cucumber, RESTAssured, SoapUI.
    • Ability to develop and maintain existing and new automation test cases
    • Proficient in SQL: query, inserts, and updates
    • Proficient in QA methodology and process (Agile testing experience preferred)
    • Experience with Git and Git services (GitHub, GitLab, etc)
    • Experience with command line tools
    • Experience with examining application logs, console logs and server logs to debug errors.
    • Strong communication skills: must be able to communicate with other functional teams to coordinate systems integration testing requirements
    • Ability to convert complex business, technical requirements and use cases to test cases and test plans
    • Exposure to Jenkins (or other CI tools)
    • Hands-on experience with defect management tools such as Jira
    • Specific QA experience in a start-up environment culture
