Meet your Future Neighbors

As a Software Engineer on the QE team at Nextdoor, you will use your programming skills along with your testing mindset to develop tools, processes, and frameworks to build testability into our products and improve developer productivity across the company. You will have an active role working with product teams building high-quality products and services for our members globally. You will build and implement tools that will allow developers to quickly and efficiently write automated tests and help improve the quality of our products at scale.  

The Impact You’ll Make

• Identify bottlenecks and sources of slowness in the Software Development Life Cycle. 
• Build out tools to improve developer productivity e.g., testability in the app, enabling testing in CI/CD pipeline, measuring test coverage, etc. 
• Develop Test plans by collaborating with cross-functional teams, identify user flows that should be automated, and work with engineering teams to automate them. 
• Review code for features and the ability to identify gaps in test coverage. 
• Coach other engineers about identifying gaps and enable them to improve coverage. 

What You’ll Bring to The House

• Solid experience in building automation frameworks for mobile and writing reliable, scalable, and reusable automated tests.
• Understanding and experience working with build and deployment workflows, using various tools like Jenkins and CircleCI. 
• Experience with at least one of the following: Appium or Expresso. 
• Experience with Test infrastructure like Selenium grid, Browserstack, Saucelabs, Firebase etc.
