As a Quality Engineer-II, you will be responsible for driving the testing strategy and working on manual and automation testing. You'll be hands-on in the manual test as well as automation and participating with the team in daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and code reviews. You will also participate in defining test strategy, manual testing and bug verification. 

Test automation and Framework design

  • Build and maintain automation test suite using JavaScript, Cypress. 
  • Document test plan, Test strategy and test cases in Confluence/JIRA 
  • Troubleshoot, identify defects through standard techniques such as debugging, profiling, logging
  • Log analysis via Splunk, tracing reproduction steps and using tools such as FullStory to replay user sessions
  • Monitor releases and bugs throughout sprint
  • Work with Developers to address any issues found in testing. 

Manual testing and Sprint activities

  • Review and provide critical feedback on Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), Epics, and Stories written by Product Managers in JIRA.
  • Provide recommendations to the Product Manager or Engineering team on an alternative product, design or technical solutions that would optimize the proposed product feature in terms of user experience.
  • Plan test strategy and communicate that with QE and Scrum team 
  • Review user story and acceptance criteria. 
  • Work with QE in writing high level test scenarios. 
  • Participate in bug backlog grooming and bug verification
  • Work with the Offshore team for extended QE work.

Ideal background and expertise:

  • 5+ years of experience in QA with progressive increase of responsibilities.
  • 3+ years of experience with frontend and backend automation.
  • Strategic understanding of automation tools and frameworks, with hands on ability to implement and maintain automation regression.
  • Strong experience in programming practices Java, Python, JavaScript.
  • Proven experience with Cypress, Selenium.
  • Proven experience testing SaaS applications, Web services APIs.
  • Experience in testing Mobile Applications is plus
