The Renewals Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that Productboard customers get the maximum value and benefit from their investment. This position is responsible for renewing a large number of customer contracts within the Enterprise segment, so we are looking for enthusiastic candidates who can quickly understand our product offerings, client engagement model, and renewal processes. As a Renewals Manager, you will support, manage, and close renewal transactions. Your role is critical in collaborating with the Customer Success and Finance teams to achieve our corporate goals. You will also provide valuable feedback as you interact with our customers, which will help us better understand their needs.

To succeed in this role, you need to have a strong knowledge of process selling, the ability to manage and close large volumes of opportunities, and work collaboratively with Finance, Customer Success, and Legal teams. The Renewals Manager should maximise the renewal success while looking for additional opportunities for upselling additional revenue. When expansion opportunities are identified, the Renewals Manager will work in partnership with the Account Executives to ensure that the right sales resources are engaged to maximise growth within the account.

On a typical week, you will … 

  • Own and optimize renewal book for maximum retention and growth
  • Engage decision-makers, lead negotiations, and address objections for successful renewals
  • Create scalable email sequences to identify risks and uncover opportunities
  • Utilize data to articulate Productboard's impact on customer business
  • Develop plays to mitigate churn for identified at-risk customers
  • Partner cross-functionally with Account Executives and Customer Success for effective collaboration
  • Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities, working with Account Executive partner
  • Implement efficient processes and scalable systems for renewing hundreds of accounts
  • Maintain an accurate 120-day renewal forecast and update renewal records
  • Collaborate with Finance, Support, and Legal on renewal logistics for successful renewals
  • Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit for success
  • Listen to customer needs and communicate technically when necessary
  • Manage the complete renewal lifecycle, including administrative tasks, negotiation, and upsell identification

About you:

  • 2-3 years of experience in SaaS renewals or sales, including forecasting and meeting quota targets. Must be familiar with SaaS renewal processes and have a proven track record of renewing customers and identifying expansion opportunities.
  • Passionate about customer experience in fast-growth tech
  • A value-driven approach in crafting narratives about how Productboard benefits businesses
  • Skilled in discovery, negotiation, and closing.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across roles and levels for collaboration
  • Operational focus, adept at creating efficient processes and systems
  • Proficient in Salesforce and familiarity with Outreach for email campaigns is a plus
  • Comfortable with various communication methods (email, phone calls, virtual meetings, webinars)
  • Track record managing a high-volume account portfolio
  • Strong analytical skills for addressing customer situations
  • Effective communication, follow-up, relationship-building, and teamwork
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, pragmatic decision-making, and self-sufficiency
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
