The Solution Specialist team within the Microsoft Security organization is at the forefront of this effort, engaging directly with customers to contribute to their success.

As a Sales Specialist - Security, you will be a solution sales leader, selling Microsoft Security to our largest customers across various business groups in our enterprise, regulated, and partner services organizations.. You will manage senior level business relationships, understand customer challenges and priorities, identify security opportunities, build solutions and business cases to close the sales. You will do this with your deep Industry and Security knowledge, technical acumen, and by leading a virtual team of resources across the Microsoft and Partner ecosystem. You will allocate your time on customer-facing activities driving sales conversations, internal meetings for collaboration and sales management, and learning & development. We are looking for passionate, experienced, and credible Sales Specialists - Security with a drive for developing and winning sales opportunities that deliver significant customer value and accelerate their digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities
  • Sales Execution: Introduces how to enable digital transformation across workloads and collaborates with a virtual team to assess customer needs and proactively build an external stakeholder mapping to implement strategies that accelerate the closing of deals, drive consumption and licensing transactions, and grow the business with current and new Customers.
  • Scaling and Collaboration: Collaborates on the planning, orchestration, and execution of end-to-end Security opportunities with a network of partners to cross-sell and up-sell products, solutions and services.
  • Technical Expertise: Leads end-to-end Security conversations, shares best practices and key competitor knowledge across solution areas and evaluates opportunities to make recommendations on pursuit or withdrawal.
  • Sales Excellence: Collaborates with extended sales team, partners, and marketing to conduct business analysis to pursue high-potential customers and develop a target list of potential business. Manages the end-to-end Security pipeline of the assigned territory. Conducts forecasting for assigned accounts and develops a portfolio and territory plan with guidance. Completes required training and obtains relevant product and role certifications aligned to the role and workload/industry.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Security, or related field AND 2+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of security-related sales or account management experience working in an industry (e.g., Healthcare, Government, Education, Manufacturing, Financial Services, Retail)
  • 4+ years of solution or services sales experience.
  • Domain experience in Microsoft Security and/or Compliance products.
  • One or more of the following certifications is a plus: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Security Certification SC-500, Azure Certification AZ-900 
  • Technical passion with good understanding of cloud security technologies -  Threat protection (Endpoint security, E-mail security, Incident Response, etc.), Kill Chain, Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP), Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM), Multi-Cloud Security, Identity and Access management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Artificial Intelligence I-based security offering(s) such as Security Copilot as well as other related technologies such as Microsoft 365 Defender, extended detection and response (XDR) and Sentinel, or one or more related technologies such as Prisma Cloud, Crowdstrike, Proofpoint, Splunk is a plus.

Solution Area Specialists IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $88,000 - $150,100 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $114,500 - $165,700 per year.

Solution Area Specialists IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $107,600 - $187,500 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,600 - $205,600 per year.
