Senior Analytics Engineer

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be part of a small but high-performing Analytics Engineering team at Grove. In this role, you will be chartered with delivering a beautifully simple analytics foundation. You will help Grove build a data architecture that provides our business stakeholders with high-quality and timely data products for efficient decision-making. You will partner with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Analysts to make sure that our company-wide BI platform is scalable, sensible, and maintainable. 

YOUR IMPACT:

• Work close to analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders with the domain expertise to architect build and launch data pipelines, and data models that are reliable, have data integrity, and align with business needs and enable self-service
• Create data quality monitoring strategies that allow us to always provide our stakeholders with accurate data.
• Plan for the future and make sure that our data platform remains scalable and fast.
• Utilize your technical skills and programming capabilities to tease out the best solution to complex data processing problems
• Develop easy to use Looker explores for our core data
• Facilitate the team’s adoption of best practices in relevant data transformation tools (dbt, Airflow), query performance tuning, etc. 
• Develop tooling that enables analysts and data scientists to be more efficient at their jobs. 

ABOUT YOU:

• 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, or data engineering
• Expert in SQL, query performance tuning, and a dashboard tool, such as Looker.
• Expert in Python and ETL optimization
• 2+ years of experience with dbt
• Experience with Airflow a plus
• Experience with Snowflake a plus
• Experience creating different data monitoring techniques
• Experience with Zendesk, Operations data a plus
• Excellent communication skills, particularly when explaining technical or complex matters to less technical co-workers
• MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Bioinformatics or a related field OR equivalent practical experience in Data Engineering/Science/Analytics
