About The Team

The Experiences Mobile team at Life360 is leading the transformation of our core mobile application into a more dynamic, intuitive, and emotionally engaging product for families. We own the foundational in-app surfaces, such as navigation, home experiences, engagement loops, and contextual UI, that shape how members interact with Life360 every day.

Our mission is to increase the depth and utility of the app, helping members discover value faster and return more frequently. We are driving the overhaul of our information architecture and defining a new north star user experience, with a focus on clarity, speed, and delight. Working closely with design, product, and platform teams, we’re building the systems and experiences that turn Life360 into the everyday operating system for modern families.

About the Job

Life360 is undergoing a major redesign of its mobile application to make it faster, more intuitive, and emotionally engaging for families worldwide. As a Senior Android Engineer on the Experiences Mobile team, you will play a key role in executing this vision. You'll contribute to the development of high-impact surfaces across the Life360 app, including our app navigation, home screen experience, and personalized content surfaces to create valuable engagement loops for our customers.

You’ll work closely with design, product, and platform engineers to bring new experiences to life and evolve how millions of users interact with the Life360 platform every day. You’ll be expected to take ownership of features, contribute to architectural decisions, and support a culture of quality, learning, and collaboration.

For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $123,000 to $213,000 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is $145,000 to $199,500 CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and iterate on core app experiences that drive engagement and improve daily utility for Life360 members.
  • Implement modular, reusable, maintainable, and performant UI components using modern Android practices such as Jetpack Compose and Kotlin.
  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to turn user problems and experience goals into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the ongoing Compose migration and app redesign efforts.
  • Ensure a high level of UI polish and user experience consistency by creating UX frameworks that orchestrate experiences leveraging our design system.
  • Support app performance, accessibility, and reliability through testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct thoughtful code reviews and contribute to a strong, inclusive engineering culture.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience building high-quality Android applications, preferably for consumer-scale products.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android frameworks, including Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Architecture Components.
  • Experience working within or contributing to design systems and reusable UI component libraries.
  • A clear understanding of Android app architecture, UI performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with product managers, designers, and cross-platform teams.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks, remote config, or server-driven UI concepts is a plus.
  • Experience developing high-quality, delightful UX experiences. 
Bonus
  • Experience creating UI flexible systems that scale to hundreds of engineers.
  • Experience working on large-scale refactors or Compose migrations.
  • Background in location-aware, contextual, or real-time mobile apps.
  • Experience working across multiple mobile platforms (Android/iOS) in collaboration with design.
  • High familiarity with AI development tools to boost productivity and rapid prototyping.
