THE CHALLENGE
Eventbrite is looking for a data analyst to join our growing Communications team. As the team’s go-to data juggler with a keen sense for storytelling, you will return from regular data deep dives in one of the world’s largest databases on events and experiences with insights that will excite journalists, event creators and consumers alike, helping us communicate Eventbrite’s role in bringing people together at live events around the globe. Working with colleagues across several departments and countries, you will be instrumental in expanding our communications team’s ability to tell fresh, data-driven stories about event and attendee trends to audiences around the world.
YOU WILL
- Be a cherished and integral part of Eventbrite's Communications team.
- Help define our data storytelling strategy and uncover the data trends that are central to implementing it.
- Conceptualize, validate and substantiate data stories from quickfire insights to large lighthouse projects in cooperation with an experienced team of storytellers.
- Help us respond quickly to data-led media requests from some of the most prestigious media organizations in the U.S. and from around the world.
- Work with our friendly colleagues in legal and finance to prep data points and narratives that are fit for a public company for external communication
- Collaborate with Eventbrite’s wider team of data analysts to continually improve our processes, self-service access to data, and validity of our data.
THE SKILL SET
- Have worked full time in data analytics, data science, data journalism or other quantitative domains for at least two years.
- Have a proven track record of slicing, dicing and combining data in pursuit of the insights you are looking for.
- Have a strong understanding of what makes a story interesting to various audiences outside of Eventbrite.
- Proficiency in querying skills to navigate complex data with confidence.
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts, inference, and data visualization
- Comfortable working with web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics
- Be a responsive, helpful colleague with a can-do attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills that will help you confidently bypass jargon to get your point across and educate others.
- Stubbornly engage and overcome obstacles that stand between you and a strong data story.
