We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to empower our product and leadership teams with valuable insights derived from company data. The ideal candidate excels in leveraging large data sets to uncover opportunities for product and process optimization and uses advanced models to test the effectiveness of various strategies. You should have extensive experience in data mining, data analysis, model building, and algorithm development, along with a strong track record of driving business results through data-driven insights. Comfort in collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders and functional teams is essential. A passion for discovering solutions within large data sets and improving business outcomes is key.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll get to:
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work across the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- Data Mining and Analysis: Extract and analyze data from company databases to optimize product development and business strategies.
- Evaluate Data Sources: Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data collection techniques.
- Develop Custom Models: Create and implement custom data models and algorithms for various data sets.
- Predictive Modeling: Utilize predictive modeling to enhance customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting, and other business outcomes.
- Monitor Performance: Develop tools and processes to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
You’ll be a good fit if you have:
- Experience: 4+ years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
- Education: Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python for running experiments, producing reports, and developing model prototypes.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on product development.
- Statistical Analysis: Experience with statistical programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.) for data manipulation and insight generation.
- Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Snowflake, Presto, and Druid.
- Machine Learning Techniques: Knowledge of machine learning techniques (clustering, tree-based algorithms, ensembles, deep learning) and experience with frameworks like scikit-learn, pandas, xgboost, and lightgbm.
- Statistical Concepts: Understanding of advanced statistical techniques (regression, distributions, statistical tests) and practical application experience.
- Prototype Development: Ability to create and validate prototypes using structured data sets, providing strong evidence to support findings.
- Business Acumen: Passion for discovering solutions in large data sets to enhance business outcomes.
- Startup Experience: Experience in a startup environment, working on small, fast-paced teams with immediate impact.
- Optimization Techniques: Experience with A/B testing and advanced optimization techniques like Multi-Armed Bandits.
- Anomaly Detection: Expertise in anomaly detection on time series data.
- ML Engineering: Strong skills in deploying models to production, familiarity with Docker and AWS Sagemaker.
- Reproducible Code: Ability to produce highly reproducible data science code, even for R&D or analysis tasks.
- AWS Experience: Familiarity with AWS S3 and Sagemaker.

This role is required to be remote in TX. This role is not eligible for remote work in any other location. Branch is not open to supporting relocation at this time.
