Job Description:

The DevOps team is looking for a motivated and independent Senior DevOps Engineer to join us. The engineer will assume technical ownership of Infrastructure across different product platforms. You will be challenged with everything from tooling, automation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and logging architecture and more. You’ll leverage your project execution expertise, looking for innovative ways to apply architectural patterns to provide solutions, improve performance and scalability. Here is what success will look like:

  • Lead & architect our growing cloud (GCP) footprint.
  • Monitor applications, server and network availability, capacity, and performance.
  • Stay current on emerging systems and Cloud services to leverage best practices and standards to improve reliability, increase security and reduce costs.
  • Build systems where observability is a first class concern using protocols and tools that cover the space of log aggregation, monitoring, systems tracing and alerting.
  • Manage CI/CD & configuration systems of production pipelines.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to evaluate software solutions which may require POC’s, testing, training and implementations.
  • Mentor other engineers to expand their expertise and improve the capabilities of the team.
  • Create and maintain documentation for owned services and procedures.
  • Be a key player in improving operational maturity though producing long term fixes from issues identified from on-call rotation.
  • Participate in on-call rotation during day PST hours.

To achieve success, we’re looking for:

  • 8+ years of Infrastructure engineering experience with most of the following systems, platforms, and skills listed below.
  • Experience providing operational support for highly available, revenue generating systems.
  • Consistent record of securely architecting and managing cloud platforms such as (AWS, GCP, Azure) using Infrastructure as Code techniques.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing Windows Servers OS required. Experience in Linux Server OS is a major plus.
  • Solid experience with IT server administration of large production environments, running in a public cloud environment (GCP preferred).
  • Experience with Containerization and Serverless Technologies.
  • Experience with application and service monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud security, storage, networking and resource policies.
  • Excellent PowerShell scripting and automation exp. Bash, Go, Python and others are nice-to-have.
  • Windows Active Directory (DC’s, DNS, GPO’s, Licensing) experience required.
  • Expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation or Cloud Deployment Manager.
  • Experience with DNS (Route 53), including domain management i.e. transfers, and registration.
  • Meets all team deadlines and responsibilities, listens to others and values opinions, helps leadership to meet goals, enjoys sharing knowledge, cross training, and is strong in documentation.
  • Know how to be resourceful to resolve problems and seek answers independently while raising your hand and engaging internal resources when you identify limitations about what you’re able to accomplish independently.
  • Tackles problems and takes independent action, seeks out new responsibilities, acts on opportunities, generates new ideas, and practices self-development.

Location:

This position will be based in our Lynnwood, WA, or San Francisco, CA offices. Telecommute/Remote will be considered.
