Senior Electrical Test Engineer

Vicarious Surgical is hiring a Senior Electrical Test Engineer to join our team in Waltham, MA. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will lead and manage the testing and validation processes for our electrical systems. You will ensure that our products meet rigorous regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will lead the electrical design documentation, testing, and troubleshooting efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and conduct electrical testing and verification activities, including design verification, validation testing, and performance testing to ensure compliance with FDA, IEC, ISO, and other regulatory standards.
• Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive test plans, protocols, and documentation for electrical design and testing processes.
• Manage and resolve electrical design issues throughout the product lifecycle, including troubleshooting complex problems and working with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
• Specify, design, and evaluate electrical hardware for advanced robotic systems, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
• Work closely with Embedded Engineers to address processing and sensing requirements, and with QA teams to support regulatory documentation and testing.
• Oversee component selection, schematic capture, and board layout using Altium.
• Develop board testers and production test equipment, and perform board failure diagnostics.

About You

• 5+ years of experience in electrical systems design and testing, with a strong background in the medical device industry and familiarity with Class II or III devices (IEC 60601 / 80601-2-77).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills preferable, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
