Impact in this Role

Your role as the Senior Logistics Coordinator will be to support and oversee the logistic operations of some of our enterprise customers and our core offerings. You will identify the best logistics solution to move finished products from our manufacturing partners to our customers, while ensuring on time delivery to our customers. Fictiv has two sets of customers - our builders, who order parts through us, and our manufacturing partners, who manufacture and assemble these parts. Fictiv takes the inputs from our builders and works with our manufacturing partners to deliver goods on our builders’ expectations. In this role, you’ll use your logistics experience to ensure continuity of supply, cost management, leading process improvements, and execution. This person will work closely with a powerful group of individuals managing some of our biggest enterprise contracts. The ideal candidate has vast experience in local and international logistics, has excellent organization and communication skills, and can collaborate cross functionally.

Role Responsibilities

Fictiv is looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Logistics Coordinator for our highly dynamic company based in San Francisco, CA. This position will provide supervision of day-to-day operations, including shipping, receiving, customs clearance of international shipments and all transactions related to said activities. The individual will work closely with the Supply Chain and Quality teams, as well as with internal and external customers around the globe. The employee in this role will report directly to the International Logistics Lead.

We are looking for self-motivated team players interested in creating an excellent customer experience coordinating shipments from local and overseas suppliers. Candidates must have a positive attitude and extreme determination for us to build a distribution network capable of scaling to support the fastest growing Digital Manufacturing company in the world.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support development of strategic programs, plan logistics needs to meet future supply and demand for our local and international logistics operations. Help our company scale and maintain our shipping capacity.
• Supervise logistics operations for local and international shipments from start to finish to ensure parts from completed productions get from factory to their destinations quickly & seamlessly
• Develop logistic solutions to support regional and global expansion, create and manage processes for worldwide shipping of products (inbound and outbound) as our company expands to new geographies.
• Ensure all shipments comply with import and export regulations, review and approve import and export documentation.
• Develop and execute logistics standard processes and workflows for how best to move products from manufacturing partners to point of consumption (customer or final integrator) while remaining compliant with the local and international trade law.
• Support management of 3PL partners and negotiate contracts and rates to ensure products are quickly shipped to customers at the best price. Act as a liaison between our 3PLs and Customer Success team to provide amazing service and logistics solutions to our customers.
• Generate and maintain logistics metrics and KPIs for Fictiv’s Core logistics operations.
• Order Tracking to maintain visibility of the status of our highest priority orders and determine risk mitigation strategies to maximize the chance of their being on time.
• Support customs clearance and troubleshoot customs hold for our international shipments. Establish communication with Ficitv’s carriers and freight forwarders to ensure all necessary shipping documents are on hand to support import and export customs clearance.
• File claims and troubleshoot issues with the carriers for incorrect charges (duties/taxes, and transportations), file claims for damaged and lost products, and drive those claims to resolutions and reimbursements. You will also support issues of routing, direct ship pickups, and carrier scheduling. When necessary, coordinate pickups, using courier services from our manufacturing partners to our customers.

• Design, assess, and implement new strategies and initiatives to provide customers with greater flexibility.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure we align the logistics enterprise processes with company objectives.

Desired traits

• Over 5 years experience with increasing levels of supervision responsibilities of domestic and international logistics operations.
• Understanding of the US import and export requirements, and customs practices.
• Excellent understanding of logistics processes, customer service, production planning, materials management, RMA processing, quality and regulatory affairs.
• Experience supporting setting up logistics operations in new geographies from scratch.
• Experience with Enterprise warehouse Management Systems.
• Experience in vendor oversight and managing external partnerships and relations.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
• You are meticulous and detail-oriented.
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under stress and lead under difficult situations.
