Senior Manager, Accounting

About this Role

Fandom is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to develop and implement improvements and quality initiatives across our growing Accounting & Finance organization. In this role you’ll be supporting senior accounting leadership with strategies that prioritize scalability and value creation. You will also partner with the Corporate Accounting team to close the books monthly, as well as build out related internal controls, automation, and process enhancements. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, we have Accounting team members located in the United States, UK, and Poland. This is a full-time position, and will start as fully remote, with plans to move towards a blended onsite and remote work week, preferably in San Francisco.

 Core Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 3 Senior Accountants, develop their skillsets to support their growth. Recruit and hire for new roles as needed.
• Oversee the general ledger; lead month-end close procedures for all operating expenses, non-operating expenses, and related balance sheet items. Including, for instance
• Review of fixed assets, intangible assets, operating leases, and prepaids,
• Review of reconciliation of accrued expenses,
• Review & approval of journal entries, preparation of complex journal entries,
• Review of month end reconciliations, and
• Consolidation of global entities in compliance with US GAAP.
• Maintain Netsuite, including its integrations. Manage travel & expense (T&E), and payables systems and processes. Manage vendor relationships.
• Manage cash inflows & outflows, foreign currency risk, interest rate risk, debt facility compliance, and banking administration.
• Partner closely with financial planning & analysis (FP&A) team.
• Assist with project management of audits and other special projects, including acquisitions, technical memos, and system integrations. Support with initiatives of senior finance leadership.
• Ensure tax and regulatory compliance across our US and international entities.
• Help increase overall quality and speed of delivery in accounting work product, while continuing to improve processes and internal controls.

 What We Value

• 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with at least 3+ years of experience at a large international public accounting firm.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (with CPA preferred).
• A highly analytical and innovative approach to problem solving, with a demonstrated track record of process improvement.
• Experience with banking and treasury accounting operations a plus
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience partnering with international functions and teams is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to maintain accuracy in work products and multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience managing NetSuite. Teampay, Tipalti, and Expensify experiences are a plus.
