As Senior Product Designer you will lead experience design and design strategy for user-facing products. Combining an understanding of business opportunities with a deep empathy for the user, you ensure an engaging product experience that works for every user. Your role will be responsible for expanding the Earnest User Journey, finding new ways to cater to our students and building out the Earnest ecosystem. You’ll be collaborating deeply with cross-functional teams across the organization to identify and build tools and products while also maintaining a lot of autonomy over your work.

You will report to the Head of Design and Research at Earnest, and you will:

  • Create and iterate on solutions that are inspired by a deep empathy for our users
  • Identify key opportunities to meet and prioritize user and business needs
  • Use research and data to inform and implement solutions
  • Own design strategy and communicate a vision
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Analytics and Research to define solutions and contribute to the overall direction of your product area
  • Partner with Product Managers to develop the strategy and rationale for solutions
  • Partner closely with Engineering to ensure our implementation and user experience is of high-quality
  • Develop strategic insights and strategies to guide UX development
  • Design processes, features, and components that can be used across products
  • Present your ideas and work up to your team and the company
  • Mentor junior members of the Design team

Ideal background and expertise:

  • 5+ years designing web-based products, with experience with UX
  • High proficiency in Figma
  • Familiarity with other UX/UI software for creating flows, prototypes
  • Ability to analyze and use data and research to inform decisions
  • Experience leading and launching end-to-end product / product features
  • Experience in working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid growth environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills to break down and solve complex problems
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Experience presenting product solutions and ideas up to senior management level
