Overview

AI can give a small or medium-sized business (SMB) the capabilities of a much larger one. For millions of SMBs, it's expanding what employees can do and creating new opportunities for the business. But SMB leaders have real questions about how to use AI to grow their business while ensuring they are generating value.

For more than 50 years, Microsoft has built the tools companies of every size use to start, run, and grow their businesses, and has studied how technology is changing work itself. Today we are partnering with SMB customers as they redesign work and business around AI.

In this role as the Senior Product Marketing Manager, you'll have a rare chance to shape how the SMB market understands AI. That means developing the positioning, messaging, and content strategy for SMB, and carrying the story from executive keynotes and original research to launches, web pages, and customer conversations.

You'll join Copilot Marketing and work in close partnership with senior executives, SMB product marketers, fellow writers and editors, and the engineers and product leaders building Copilot.

We're looking for a world-class writer and communicator with genuine depth in business, technology, and the SMB market. You know how SMBs run, buy, and grow, and you can explain how AI is creating both challenges and opportunities for businesses of this size.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.

  • Drive category development in AI for SMBs, establishing Microsoft as the leading voice and shaping what owners should expect from AI built for companies their size.
  • Write and edit thought leadership for Microsoft's senior leaders on how SMBs put AI to work, including keynotes, newsletters, and blogs, in partnership with executive communications.
  • Shape original research on how SMBs are adopting AI and what it lets them do that they couldn't before, drawing on evidence from customers, usage data, and research partners.
  • Own the content strategy and editorial calendar for SMB, deciding what we publish, where, and when across blogs, web, research, social, and events, and finding the customer stories that bring it to life.
  • Create go-to-market and sales enablement content, from launch narratives for flagship moments such as Microsoft Ignite to talk tracks and briefing documents that help field and partner teams lead credible conversations with SMB customers about value and cost.
