As the Senior Security Engineer, you will report to the VP, Information Security and will work on:

•  Security Architecture and Engineering 

  • Design/architect security solutions for Earnest’s technology platforms
  • Interface with Earnest stakeholders, both within and outside of engineering to determine business and   technology needs/requirements
  • Build and document technology controls 

• Compliance 

  • Assist with regulatory and industry compliance activities
  • Represent Earnest in front of Navient and other external entities auditing Earnest.

  
  

• Security & Compliance Program Development 

  • Assist with developing and growing the security and compliance program
  • Represent the Earnest security team in front of the organization and the Executive team

  
  

• Training and Developing 

  • Train and develop other members in the security team
  • Conduct training for other engineering resources

Ideal background and expertise:

• 5+ years of related experience
• Understanding of AWS and commonly used AWS services
• Software development experience with either functional or imperative languages
• Ability to perform security-focused code reviews
• Comfortable with typical threat hunting/incident response processes. 
• Experience with containers, microservices and the risks associated with these systems
• Understanding of both human and non-human identity, authentication and authorization 
• Hands-on experience operating and securing CI/CD environments
