The Basics (Hybrid Role - Part-time IN office)
As a Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer at Tanium, you will be working on a project that will make IT and security teams more effective at scale by automating complex tasks in real time using cutting edge technologies. Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new products ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input. This is a full-stack role that requires solid backend programming skills. 
What you'll do
<ul>
<li>Build and maintain Tanium's products alongside an agile development team. </li>
<li>Design, develop and test new product ideas from the ground up while working with product management for feedback and input</li>
<li>Work on small teams that tackle big challenges in common components like a common data service tasked with unifying and consolidating endpoint data across the entire ecosystem, handling time series data that drive dashboarding and reporting, and exposing data externally through GraphQL enabling partners (like Salesforce) to easily integrate</li>
<li>Delivering higher level services enabled by our core services that directly enable our products and focus on everything from security to operations to auditing</li>
<li>Be on periodic on-call for triage of critical alerts</li>
</ul>
Education
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience</li>
<li>CS Degree preferred</li>
</ul>
Experience
<ul>
<li>5+ years industry experience</li>
<li>Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs </li>
<li>Knowledge of of Golang (required), Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Rust</li>
<li>Experience with HTTP API design and development</li>
<li>Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and Jenkins</li>
<li>Experience with React, Typescript, Javascript, and other front-end technologies and frameworks. </li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, long-term code maintainability and supportability</li>
<li>Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development</li>
<li>Experienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments</li>
<li>Has knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new tools</li>

What you’ll get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $355,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
In addition to an annual base salary, team members will receive equity awards and a generous benefits package consisting of medical, dental and vision plan, family planning benefits, health savings account, flexible spending account, transportation savings account, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, life, accident and disability coverage, business travel accident insurance, employee assistance programs, disability insurance, and other well-being benefits.
