The Opportunity

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for Front-End Software Engineers to join our Engineering teams. Front-End engineers will ship user-focused interfaces and work closely with Product and Design teams while collaborating with many other functional teams across the Engineering organization.

As a Front-End Software Engineer at Grammarly, you will:

  • Ship production-grade code to over 40 million daily active users.
  • Grow and maintain the team’s technical excellence by harnessing best practices for the team and product.
  • Contribute to the technical culture of the company.
  • Harness engagement metrics to identify and build new impactful features.
  • Work on fun and technically challenging projects to deliver impactful apps on popular browsers.
  • Use React and TypeScript while building super refined and elegant user interfaces.
  • Collaborate widely with internal teams such as Core, Growth, Enterprise, Trust, and Data to deliver delightful product offerings to our customers.
  • Make a meaningful impact on the lives of writers everywhere!
Qualifications
  • 5+ Years of experience.
  • Web programming: Expert knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Security: Understanding common vulnerabilities in web apps and how to avoid/eliminate them.
  • Defining/using APIs: Can work with back-end engineers to define and consume APIs to build new interfaces.
  • Results orientation: Getting things done.
  • Modern JS frameworks: Experience building apps using React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.
  • Translating design to pixel-perfect UI: Understands the constraints of responsive design across various screen sizes or input methods.
  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.

Compensation and Benefits

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future

 
Zone 1: $175,000 – $250,000/year (USD)
