The team supports the user interfaces for Affirm Products like Card, Savings, Prequal, Checkout, User Portal and Repayment flows across various geographies. The team builds the User Experience for sign in / signup, authentication, risk , fraud detection & mitigation flows. We are looking for a strong software engineer to build and enhance user interfaces and backend APIs to deliver the Identity and Fraud decisions for users who come through various platforms (Web, iOS, Android) and entry channels. You will be responsible for building optimizations through experimentation and improving the E2E conversion. </p>
<h1>What You’ll Do</h1>

<li>Work with product and engineering managers to implement business critical features enabling new user experiences across the entire stack (mobile, web, backend).</li>
<li>Consistently generate simple and elegant designs, and write high-quality code that can be easily understood and leveraged by others.</li>
<li>Build relationships with people across engineering and other organizations for the design, implementation, roll-out and maintenance of projects.</li>
<li>Actively participate in making their team and workplace an inclusive environment for people from all backgrounds.</li>
</ul>
<h1>What We Look For</h1>
<ul>
<li>1-2 years of experience as a software engineer/Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field</li>
<li>Self driven and motivated engineer who takes pride and ownership in navigating through ambiguities and solving complex technical/organizational problems.</li>
<li>Proficiency in front end web application development using React and Redux</li>
<li>Comfortable finding their way around back end APIs and models (we use Python, Flask)</li>
<li>Knowledgeable in web best practices, e.g., browser capabilities, unit and integration testing (we use Webdriver IO, Playwright, Jest, React testing library)</li>
<li>Comfortable partnering with product managers and designers with an attention to detail</li>
<li>Great communicator and collaborator</li>
<li>Great product and design sense</li>
<li>A humble team-player who places the needs of others first and participates in the development of peers on the team.</li>
<li>This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.</li>

<p>Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.<br><br>Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)<br><br>USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $130,000 - $170,000<br>USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $115,000 - $155,000</p>
