Biotechnology is rewriting life as we know it, from the medicines we take, to the crops we grow, the materials we wear, and the household goods that we rely on every day. But moving at the new speed of science requires better technology.
Benchling’s mission is to unlock the power of biotechnology. The world’s most innovative biotech companies use Benchling’s R&D Cloud to power the development of breakthrough products and accelerate time to milestone and market.
Come help us bring modern software to modern science.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Benchling builds tools that help scientists and lab operators work more efficiently. Most of the tools that people at biotech companies use are browser- or desktop-based. However, in many biotech verticals—particularly agriculture tech companies—it’s clear that a lot of work happens away from the lab bench. It’s time-intensive to reflect work done on-the-go in these systems—and it should be easier. That’s where the mobile team comes in.
The mobile team makes scientists and lab operators more productive when they’re not at their computer. Right now we’re focused on simplifying the experience of recording experimental results on-the-go. For example, we let lab operators at agriculture tech companies easily record measurements of plants when they’re in their greenhouses or in their fields. Soon we’ll let users access and update their lab inventory. Across all of our projects, we’re focused on reducing the toil that’s involved in the work that biotech companies do to take a new product to market.
We’re looking for an experienced engineer to lead the development of our mobile application which scientists and lab operators who are recording experimental results on-the-go while they work out in the field (e.g. greenhouses for our agriculture tech customers). The application is brand new (we started building it this year) and there are many important technical and product decisions to make in the coming months.
