The Software Tester will ensure software quality by designing and executing test cases, identifying bugs, and collaborating with developers.
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Tester (QA Engineer) to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software applications. The tester will be responsible for identifying bugs, validating functionality, and collaborating with developers to deliver high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, specifications, and user stories to create test scenarios
- Design, write, and execute test cases (manual and/or automated)
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity testing
- Identify, log, track, and retest defects using bug-tracking tools
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to resolve issues
- Validate fixes and ensure no impact on existing functionality
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Ensure software meets quality standards before production release
- Maintain test documentation and reports
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in manual testing and understanding of SDLC & STLC
- Knowledge of testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla)
- Basic understanding of SQL, APIs, and web technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and documentation skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in test automation (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, etc.)
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (JavaScript, Java, Python, TypeScript)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- API testing experience (Postman, REST APIs)
