About the Team:
The Quizlet Public Relations team is responsible for driving internal and external communications in service of the Quizlet Brand. This team works closely with our marketing, product and executive teams to drive awareness of our brand and mission, which is to make students unstoppable by helping them practice and master what they are learning. The team accomplishes this goal through creative storytelling, thought leadership, and communications for our business, consumer and investor communities.
About the Role:
The Head of Communications plays a key role in Quizlet’s success by significantly influencing the company’s overall brand positioning and reputation in the market. By focusing on Quizlet’s core audience, this individual will further our position through thought leadership, ground-breaking programs, relationships with key journalists and opinion leaders, and a close relationship with our CEO.
In this role, you will:
- Be an excellent storyteller, working closely with the CEO and CMO to set the entire communications agenda for Quizlet across internal, consumer, business and investor audiences
- Build a world-class communications team that helps craft and protect Quizlet’s brand and reputation globally
- Build and maintain long term relationship with the press community
- Create excitement around the Quizlet brand through innovative programs connecting Quizlet to students and culture
- Advise senior management, the CEO, and the Board on a broad range of opportunities and issues associated with communications and messaging
- Use quantitative/qualitative insights to drive decisions, measure success and encourage positive change within the organization
- Oversee the management of agency partners globally
What you bring to the table:
- 15 years of experience in communications or public relations
- Agency and/or in-house experience with a preference for both
- Expert level oral and written communication skills
- Strong track record of experience using non-traditional communications channels to build reputation and brand
- Team player with great people skills
- Ability to partner effectively with external resources, but also roll up the sleeves and dig into details
- A passion for education and learning
- A highly collaborative, flexible and adaptable style, with strong diplomatic and influencing skills
