About the Team:

We have openings in several teams as below:

Explanation: This team will focus on advanced user features, single-page application use cases, front-end performance, and unique challenges related to the rendering of math.

Subscriptions: This team’s mission is to grow our business by helping students and teachers achieve better learning outcomes. Furthermore, the team also ensures that we have the right infrastructure in place to support these goals.

User Acquisition: This team’s mission is to acquire new users through SEO, viral word of mouth, and other channels to accelerate user growth, particularly in international markets.

About the Role:

We’re looking for several passionate and skilled full stack engineers who can choose to join any of the above teams based on their strength and interests. All these teams are cross-functional teams and hence you will work closely with members from Product, Design, Data Science, Data Analytics, Product Support and User Research along with your fellow full stack engineers in your team.

In this role, you will:

• Design and build experiments to grow Quizlet’s user base as well as subscriber base
• Build and maintain features that motivate students to return and study to master their courses
• Identify, advocate, and contribute to platform investment projects that will improve the productivity of full-stack engineers, quality of the codebase and strengthen the infrastructure
• Implement and enhance services in the tech-stack that includes, but not limited to, React, Typescript, Hack, Kotlin Multiplatform, Python, Mysql, Spanner, and Google Cloud Platform’s services such as Bigquery, Kubernetes, and many more

Average Day:

• Our team works in two week sprints with kickoff, standup, grooming and a retro at the end to ensure our process is working for us (and not the other way around!)
• We love to work collaboratively - you’ll work with everybody on the team to explore creative solutions to problems so we can learn and iterate quickly
• As an engineer, you will be responsible for bringing product requirements into reality. This means implementing the engineering solutions, breaking down projects into milestones and tasks, working with product analysts to formulate test plans, and when it's all done - understanding and communicating what we’ve learned
• Understand and make tradeoffs between level of investment and execution speed, along with trying to learn what works and what doesn’t as quickly as possible
• Review code and engineering designs from other engineers on the team who may be working on other projects
• Plenty of heads down time to execute the team plan

What you bring to the table:

• 5+ years of experience building rich, interactive web applications for large-scale consumer websites, with attention to scalability and performance concerns
• Full stack experience; working from storage all the way up to modern Javascript frameworks. While we use MySQL, PHP/Hacklang, and React, we welcome all flavors of full stack expertise
• Experience leading projects from inception to completion
• Experience working in a data driven environment - able to shift gears and go where the data leads you
• Experience writing unit tests and testable code
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excitement about the impact your work could have on the lives of students and teachers every day

Bonus points if you have:

• Teach, tutor, or mentor others at or outside work
• Worked in a growth or monetization team
• Extensive knowledge of A/B testing and data analysis of results

Compensation, Benefits & Perks:

• Colorado candidates: Base pay for this role starts at $130,000. The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience
