Who we are:

MasterClass is transforming online education by enabling anyone in the world to learn from the very best.  We are deconstructing what makes an actor able to cry on demand, how an athlete defies gravity, and what it takes to write a bestseller.  Our online learning content is available to students anywhere anytime, which supports our mission to ignite the greatness in others.

We are a quickly growing VC-funded startup based in San Francisco, with additional offices in Los Angeles.  We have created online classes taught by famous masters— Gordon Ramsay, Serena Williams, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sara Blakely, David Sedaris, Bobbi Brown, Timbaland, Anna Wintour and many more to come.

Since launching in 2015, we have been growing our team. Apply now to find out more about what we are doing behind the scenes.

What we are looking for:

  • Expert narrative and visual storytelling ability with the capacity to make concepts accessible and engaging.
  • Strong track record making video content that demonstrates mastery in all phases of the class-making process (development, production, post)  in multiple categories (e.g., culinary, music, etc.) and across class types (e.g., demo, sit-down, master in action) with minimal supervision:
    • Mastery at curriculum building and ability to perform deep research on complex topics
    • Proven ability to produce different class types across multiple categories: 1:1 interview, BTS, documentary, demo, etc.
    • Strong ability to interact with instructor teams.
    • Post-Production: Demonstrated ability to take a class through post-production — meeting timelines, working efficiently with editorial, licensing and graphics teams, communicating cross-functionally, and delivering excellent classes and well put together final deliverables.
    • Acumen to communicate cross-functionally to bring partners in marketing, product, and program management together around shared goals
  • Consistent track record of taking ownership and action on multiple, competing priorities and effectively managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.

  • Successfully lead or manage creative development of classes with minimal supervision
  • Lead on cross-functional projects through the company, bringing strategic clarity, timelines, organizing of resources, and managing teams towards the end goal.
  • Serve as the interviewer and/or director as required.
  • Ability to work with Creative Producers as a collaborator/mentor on their classes.
  • Take on additional work streams besides class creation. This may be managing one or more direct reports or driving cross-functional projects.

Requirements:

  • Fluent written and spoken German or Spanish
